Ian believes that investing in a multi-cultural workforce is the future - combining culture, people, education and training in an integrated, holistic way that pays superior dividends for organisations and communities.
Ian worked for 18 years in the Employment Sector. During this time he developed Indigenous Employment Strategies and worked with highly disadvantaged clients, youth and mature age jobseekers.
Ian has a Master’s in Business Administration, majoring in Organisational Learning and Change and worked in Europe and Asia for over 10 years. Ian has been lecturing at the Australian College of Applied Psychology for over 8 years to undergraduate and post graduate students, in: Approaches to Cultural Diversity; Organisational Behaviour; Contemporary Management Issues; Society and Culture in Organisational Behaviour; Managing in Ambiguity and Change; and Strategic Management. He has spoken at the University of Technology in Sydney on Strategy and the University of Sydney on Culture and its impact on business.
Ian uses his understanding of business, culture and education to assist in ‘closing the gap’ between Indigenous Australia and non-Indigenous Australia. His work within this area gained him special recognition at World Indigenous Day in 2005.
Ian TrevallionDirector – Career Counsellor / Psychologist
Ian has been a career counsellor, trainer and psychologist for over 30 years. He has worked across the Commonwealth and State sectors, in the Employment Services sector, in a Training/Coaching consultancy, in the private sector and, in addition to his work with Across Culture, now in private practice.
His approach to all of his work, with staff, executives, corporations, and job-seekers, has been a non-judgemental client-centred approach where he works with his client to identify and help them fulfil their aspirations and manage any blocks they may have.
He maintains his enthusiasm and skills through ongoing membership of, and professional development with, the Australian Psychological Society, the Career Development Association of Australia, the Australian Institute of Training and Development and the Australian Human Resources Institute.
Ian holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology (Hons), and a Master of Public Health. He is a registered psychologist and accredited career counsellor. He also has involvement in several businesses as a Director and Partner, ensuring that he maintains connection with the commercial sector, best-practice employment practices, and the economy and political landscape generally.
He travels extensively, is culturally and diversity-friendly, and has family links to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Communities.
Chris BridgerAdministration Support
Chris brings a unique set of skills to Across Culture. Chris is a qualified Social Worker and has worked in this capacity for over 20 years; she has owned and run her own business, worked within Mental Health sector as an Employment Consultant and held various positions in administration.
Chris’ passion is to keep the back office running smoothly for an organization that aims to make a difference. Her values fit well with Across Culture’ s endeavors and her eye for detail enables the team to feel confident they have the support required to do their job.
